The Meryl Streep Forumさんより Cast Interview -2/2-
Meryl : They just thought there were kings of the world, they were surrounded by all these women fighting over them.
Phyllida : anytime they had a horrible time when I asked him to jump off that very high rock.
Pierce : 25 feet, high! I was a guy that supposedly there's James Bond all those years ago, my knees shook, and I did it! We did it!
Benny : We've been lucky all these guys wanted to do this movie, so we all knew before they were on that they actually could sing.
Pierce : Oh my god, what have I done, and I'm gonna have to sing and have to sing opposite Meryl Streep and... give me strength.
Christine : I just was not doubt by the timbre of Pierce's voice. It's got that Crowley rock quality, it's really sexy.
Amanda : they're just sweet charming individual, feel like they're my buddies.
25 feet= ７～８m, give me strength：:まいったなあ
――Going back to where it all began it's time for number 5 on the countdown.
It's a real story, behind the story.
――"Mamma Mia!" is the brainchild of Judy Craymer, a die hard of ABBA fan who wanted to build a musical around the popular tunes.
Judy : the story to me was "The Winner Takes It All" big... bound at the big eleven o'clock number and they say on broadway and the song was my inspiration. I didn't really care whether it was a film or show, the beginning of those like it uses "Buddy's Song", it's already.
Benny : I was really protective about work without because I'm very proud of that, I was a bit worried that if you want to do something else with it will come out like.
Catherine : That was what drove it their ABBA songs not changed at all find the story, Judy sent me home with the back catalogue and I just sat there and every single lyric and as I read the idea started to sort of be both.
Benny : finally she came up with this script, can you imagine how difficult that would be, you can choose from a hundred songs and you pick these songs, and you say well, and I'm going to write something to make this work, Catherine did that, it's incredible.
From that moment I was not stand anymore as I had to tell Judy she was right.
Judy : It was joke because Benny was --?-- , once he said "Mamma Mia's really a story of Judy Craymer" and two blocks with beard who kept saying "No", and it has been a journey of learning to realize that no means yes.
―― Coming up who said acting easy.
Christine : Meryl runs up this huge stone staircase that just looks like it's miles high.
Meryl : It just doesn't stop these step, it's really the stairway to heaven.
―― And why did flicks all about chick.
Phyllida : no doubt the four women have the limelight and the guys are there to support.
―― Next on 10 most excellent things of "Mamma Mia!" Coming in at number 4, the movers and shakers that really make "Mamma Mia!" rock.
Pierce : it ain't easy being "Dancing Queen", OK.
―― "Mamma Mia!" cast has some Hollywood heavyweights have done plenty of physical roles, but dancing and singing not so much.
Christine : Nobody in "Mamma Mia!" is like a professional singer, dancer, the singing and the dancing all, I think kind of funnier and more humor, it's not super slick or polished.
Phyllida : Meryl has a lot of technical challenges of, sort of singing and sliding down banisters at same time, reeling off the side of a building and singing.
Meryl : every single piece of this was like a chance to do something that nobody else in the world would ask me ever to do, I just felt like I was getting the golden opportunity of my life.
Amanda : the major choreographed piece was labeled you've got the entire cast on this stage, that was demanding.
Dominic : "Voulez-Vous", would you like to do "Voulez-Vous".
Amanda : 3 fathers were horrified at the idea and I know that's true because I saw their faces. Colin's face is priceless. I think they all kind of won't want to leave that day, --??-- what I'm gonna get myself into.
Pierce : today's of "Voulez-Vous", trying to do the Greek dancer.
Christine : I think that's actually would delight people with sing, 3... actually 3 serious actors... (laughter)
―― It's time to map out the number 3 most excellent things about "Mamma Mia!"
Dominic : location, location, location.
―― "Mamma Mia!" takes place in the Greek islands but before cast got to work in paradise, they had to toil on a soundstage in foggy London.
Christine : London weather was horrible! It was like rainy, cold. We'd be like in our little summer, outfits going freezing from the dressing room to the soundstage.
Meryl : It's kind of a wide disconnect. At the very end, we went to Greece for about 3 weeks to do all the exteriors, that was unbelievable.
Phyllida : I realized I really was directing a Hollywood movie when we were in a helicopter looking over Greece, looking for this idyllic place.
Christine : there was this church on top of a cliff where Sophie's wedding happens, Meryl runs up this huge stone staircase.
Meryl : It just doesn't stop these steps. That's really the stairway to heaven. the wind blowing, the waves were crashing, but it sort of worked completely beautifully.
Amanda : It was really difficult because you feel like you're on vacation when you're really not, and we'd work six days that one night that we had off, we party like there's no tomorrow.
Judy : difficult to describe somebody what your life, your office was like on a beautiful beach with lots of young man and flippers, and... Pierce Brosnan and Colin Firth, it was... it was tough, you know.
―― The leading ladies of "Mamma Mia!"are the number 2 most excellent thing.
Christine : this does, are doing it for themselves.
―― "Mamma Mia!" is all about girls power both on screen and off. The film is written, directed and produced by some of the most talented women in the biz.
Benny : Judy Craymer, Catherine Johnson, also Phyllidaof course, these 3 ladies has made this thing what it is, they're all brilliant.
Judy : I think it is possible because ban to --??-- ABBA of great songs for women, there's a kind of a cross between ironic and concerning deputies, that they ended up with 3 women creating 3 strong roles for women.
Phyllida : You're seeing women of a certain age being very very silly... and no doubt 3 women really the 4 women in the Dynamos and Amanda have the limelight and the guys are there to support.
Pierce : We are the bimbos who are the, you know, guys on the sideline.
Phyllida : I think there's a particular spirit about the movie that is quite female but not say that this is a particular chick flick, I think it's for everyone.
―― Coming up fabulous fashions bound.
Meryl : platforms for like 25 inches tall not exaggerating but they were eight.
―― Next on 10 most excellent things "Mamma Mia!" and now prepare yourself, it's the number 1 most excellent thing about "Mamma Mia!"
Christine : Tight pants and high heels.
―― In keeping with ABBA's wild wardrobe choices of the 70s, the cast of "Mamma Mia!" takes plenty of fashion risks.
Gary Goetzman : Oh yeah, this is one zany colorful set of clothes that get thrown out these works.
Meryl : I wear a pair of really unattractive overalls for almost the whole movie a career-ender.
But these costumes that we got to wear when we were really the Dynamos, they were a kick. platforms felt like 25 inches tall not exaggerating but they were eight. That really probably will seal my fate. The whole thing was ridiculously fun.
Judy : we always joke because there was a quote from a newspaper [the New York Post] that said " Let the joy wash over you ", and the moment does " Let the joy wash over you ".
Christine : I think people are going to really in addition to just responding, just to all that great music, they're going to find the story extremely human and beautiful.
Meryl : It's about an hour and half of sun drenched love music anguish joy dancing fun, it's wonderful wonderful movie!
